With summer two thirds of the way over, I figured it was time to get ready for this next year of school.  So, after several days of sorting, packing, and unpacking clothes, we were able to determine who needed what and make a list.  Veta and Hazel love to go shopping and had a lot of fun selecting what clothing they felt they needed for school.  Luckily, their taste doesn’t run too wild, so I didn’t have to tell them no very often.  Naturally, with so many new outfits, we had to have a fashion show.  Veta went through several CDs before she found some music she felt was an appropriate match for her fashion show.  After the volume was turned way up, she and Hazel took turns strutting down the hallway in their new clothing, pausing at the end of the hall to pose dramatically, and then heading back to their room to change outfits for their next turn.

Gemma is finally getting more teeth!  She has had just the bottom two for so long it seems.  She has been rather clingy this past week and feeling a bit feverish.  Last night she was holding her mouth like she had something in it that she shouldn’t, and when I finally got her to open her mouth I could see the swelling in her gums where four new teeth were coming in!  Also, Gemma has taken a couple of very tentative steps all by herself, though not consecutively.  While she’s standing, she will take a tiny step, decide it’s too risky, and drop to her hands and knees to crawl.  However, she loves to hold onto others’ hands and walk with them.
